Hi, my name is Mckenzie Taylor, but I go by Kenzi.

I am the owner of Taylor's Herbs. Starting our business journey in 2013, we have helped hundreds of people reach their health goals naturally. Currently having obtained a Certified Health Specialist degree in October 2013, and my Doctor of Naturopathy from Trinity School of Natural Health in August of 2016.  With over 5 years of natural health training and experience, I am determined to teach and train clients on how to listen to their bodies.

However my journey started with the medical field and through my adversities, God directed me to natural medicine. I have been a part of the natural health field since 2010 working alongside chiropractors, Dr. James Bugg DC and Dr. Jeffrey Mussman DC. Then working at what is now Taylor's Herbs since 2012. There are many reasons why I chose the Natural health profession.  From my desire to help people, life experiences, interest in the medical profession, and my overall faith in my Lord and Savior.

What really directed my path for helping others is my own story.

Throughout my life I have had many medical related experiences. In 2007 my grandfather Mikeal Ray Mankin was diagnosed with cancer.  He suffered from Malignant Melanoma, Lymphoma, Head and Neck, Sinus, and which all led to Lung cancer.  They were all classified as stage 4.  My grandfather was my hero, and from that day forward I took it upon myself to stay by his side during his fight.  I constantly researched different types of treatments, went to his appointments, and kept up with his general health.  He fought for years going through chemotherapy, radiation, and battling other illnesses.  In December of 2010, he became hospitalized.  The lung cancer had taken over, and medically there was not much that could be done.  I stayed with him every night, and monitored his care.  On January 19th, 2011 he went home to be with the Lord.  I now know how Naturopathic medicine could have helped him tremendously.

All while in my sophomore year of high school I become ill.  One day I woke up and literally was unable to walk.  For months I saw many of the state’s top specialists, and was even hospitalized under the care of a Neurosurgeon.  Which all came up with many diverse misdiagnoses.  After nearly two years of being over medicated, and abused by the medical community we sought help from a Chiropractor.   Dr. James Bugg, DC and Dr. Jeffery Mussman, D.C. discovered I suffered from Piriformis Syndrome, through adjustments and natural remedies I regained my life back.

Those same Chiropractors later hired me to work in their office where I was able to begin my journey of helping others.  They taught me the importance of spinal re-aliments, and overall nutrition.  I later began working alongside Sandy Taylor, ND.  The former owner of the shop known as Sandy’s Herbs. She later decided it was time to retire to spend more time traveling with her husband, and playing with her grandchildren.  That is when we made the change from Sandy’s Herbs, to Taylor’s Herbs.

Throughout my short life I have had many experiences that have matured me beyond my years, all which has lead me to help others.  I firmly believe God has guided and directed me to this path, and through my pain and suffering I have learned that the only way, is His way, the natural way.

My goal is to teach you how to listen and properly respond to your body through nutrition.  I look for the cause of the discomfort rather than working with symptomatic care.  Our warm and friendly staff helps all who enter our doors feel comfortable and at home.

Janey Hays has been apart of our staff since 2013.  She specializes in emotional health with the use of Bach Flower remedies.

Kassidie Mankin joined us in 2014, and she happens to be my sister!  She owns It's An Herb located inside of Taylor's Herbs and specializes in bulk herbs and organic teas.  She has obtained her Master Herbalist degree from Trinity School of Natural and is excited to see how the Lord will direct her path for helping others.

In September of 2014 we expanded our business from a little over 500 sq.ft. to over 2,000 sq.ft. clinic!  God has blessed our business beyond measure.  Since the beginning of my journey, God had given me a dream of a multiple purpose clinic.  Where we could help others gain optimal health naturally by addressing the mind, body and spirit.  Dr. Jeff Mussman, DC was able to relocate his office into ours, Janey Hays offers bach flowers, Kassi Mankin is able to offer her bulk herbs and teas, Svetlana Van Hooser, LPC offers counseling, Gail Bosma holds our offices together, and to top it off we have a wide variety of products and services to meet your needs.  Together we make up what is now known as, The MacArthur Wellness Center!
